Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou was born in Beaumont in France's Puy-de-Domme on 8 August 1976. She was youngest among four kids. From a very young age, both her dental doctor parents as well as her teacher mom supported her love of drama and theater. It was this love that trumps her first desire to be primatologist. Her meteoric rise as a young actress was quick and marked by her early successes. The beginning of her career came in 1999, after which she began acting professionally. Also, she has an intense interest in photography and recently produced an exhibition of her work at the Arles Festival with the name Superficial. The majority of her photographs concern the spotlight and fame. The exhibit also includes self-portraits and also. Audrey Tautou became a star and gained international recognition with her first role in Amelie Poulain from Le Fabuleux Destination d'Amelie. Amelie received international recognition due to its success at the box office. It was also praised in award ceremonies all over the globe. The film is still the top grossing French film of the French language across the US. After the film, she appeared in many films that ranged from British dramas up to Jean Pierre Jeunet's film Un long dimanche de fiancailles. She then moved to Hollywood and was in the film with Tom Hanks alongside Ron Howard in The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown.
